Crop insurance refers to an insurance which insures farmers and crop producers against the their loss of crops due to natural disasters, such as hail drought and floods.

Scope of Cover

The short fall in yield resulting from Loss or Damage to the Standing Crop (Sowing to Harvesting) due to:

  • Natural Fire and Lightning
  • Storm, Hailstorm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Tornado
  • Flood, Inundation and landslide
  • Drought and Dry spells
  • Pests and Disease other than controllable pests and diseases.

Loss or Damage to the insured Crop due to Cyclone Post Harvest subject to the following conditions:

  • The cyclone affected area is a coastal area
  • Cropspost-harvest are lying in the field for drying purpose in"cut & spread"condition".
  • Cover age is available only up to a maximum of 14 days from harvesting.
  • Assessment of damage would be on individual basis.
